Our friend Anton

Some of you personally know Anton Miroshnichenko of Kyiv, Ukraine. During the past few days he and I have messaged as Vladimir Putin’s government amassed military power and invaded Anton’s native homeland. Today, Anton and his family have taken shelter in Kyiv as they closely follow unfolding events to determine their next move. Even under the duress of today’s invasion, this longtime Urantia Book reader has maintained a sense of levity, hope, and courage. We are deeply saddened and horrified by Putin’s arrogant and callous act of inhumanity.

Thursday, May 18, 30 CE Pentecost

193:5.1 (2057.3) It was almost half past seven o’clock this Thursday morning, May 18, when Jesus arrived on the western slope of Mount Olivet with his eleven silent and somewhat bewildered apostles. From this location, about two thirds the way up the mountain, they could look out over Jerusalem and down upon Gethsemane.

In Gratitude to Educators

The Urantia Book says that the “universe is one vast school.” For many children and young people, education
is one of their few opportunities to emerge from poverty and become
self-sustaining and self-actualized members of society. Education is one
pillar of society that must be universal, well-financed, fully
accessible, and high quality in order for every young person to enter
adulthood on as level of a playing field as possible. As educators and students return to classrooms around many parts of the world this time of year, we offer these quotes from The Urantia Book that honor the pivotal role  educators play in our society and its ongoing evolution. 2:7.12 (43.5) The
real purpose of all universe education is to effect the better
co-ordination of the isolated child of the worlds with the larger
realities of his expanding experience.

January 14th, 26 AD The Baptism of Jesus

January 14, 26 AD is the date The Urantia Book designates that Jesus was baptized by his distant cousin John in the Jordan River at a site near Pella. This excerpt follows Jesus from the moment he lays down his tools at the Capernaum boat shop to the moments after his baptism. 135:8.3 Just
before the noon rest, Jesus laid down his tools, removed his work
apron, and merely announced to the three workmen in the room with him,
“My hour has come.” He went out to his brothers James and Jude,
repeating, “My hour has come – let us go to John.” And they started
immediately for Pella, eating their lunch as they journeyed.

Remembering Richard Keeler

Four years ago, I had the pleasure of filming Richard Keeler at Urantia Foundation as part of a project in which several readers expressed their feelings about The Urantia Book. For 25 minutes, Richard spoke with his characteristic intelligence and passion about how these teachings transformed his life. By providing it unedited I think it makes it more personal, and lets us visit with him one more time. https://youtu.be/P0gaEtRMF78

Richard Keeler and his devotion to The Urantia Book began when he found the text in 1959 as a college student in Lawrence, Kansas. He served as Trustee and President of Urantia Foundation for many years and spent his last years as Trustee Emeritus, gracing Foundation meetings with wit, candor, and wisdom.
